Don't Let Missouri Puppy Mills Thrive, Keep Prop B in Place
On November 2, Missourians cast a 51.6 percent vote in favor of Prop B, the Puppy Mill Cruelty Prevention Act, a citizen initiative brought to voters to stand up for dogs languishing in the state's puppy mills.
Unfortunately, opponents are still working hard to kill Prop B and legislators are already discussing weakening the law, or repealing it altogether.
Prop B calls for:
- Sufficient food and clean water.
- Necessary veterinary care.
- Sufficient housing, including protection from the elements.
- Sufficient space to turn around and stretch freely, lie down and fully extend limbs.
- Regular exercise.
- Adequate rest between breeding cycles.
- A limit of 50 breeding dogs per facility.
Sign the petition asking Missouri legislators to uphold the will of the voters and take a stand against cruelty by keeping Prop B in place.
Visit the
Missourians for the Protection of Dogs for more info.
As someone who cares deeply about the well-being of animals, I respectfully urge you to keep Prop B in place.
Voters in Missouri cast their ballots and let it be known that puppy mills in their state are unacceptable.
Show us that the Show Me state is going to honor the democratic process and uphold the will of the voters by keeping Prop B in tact. Show us that you are willing to provide an example for other states to follow by choosing compassion over profits and by fighting cruelty and preventing the suffering of thousands upon thousands of dogs suffering in Missouri puppy mills.
Please take a stand against special interests and keep Missouri from continuing to be known as the puppy mill capital of America because it supports an industry that perpetuates cruelty simply for money.
